Twitter is a great place to build your business and promote your products as long as you don’t overdo it and annoy other Twitter users. While you promote your business, you must remember that Twitter is a social networking site, where aggressive marketing is simply not appreciated. Here are 4 tips to help you build your business on Twitter.

1. Tweet About Your Business

Building your business on Twitter is ridiculously easy. For example, if you are working on a new product at present, all you have to do is tweet about it. You could just tweet, “I am busy writing an eBook at present.” Other Tweeps are sure to get interested in your work. Some of them might even purchase it once it is done.

However, be careful when you play this game. Talking about your work or career is quite normal, but don’t carry it to the extreme. You could also include your website address in your bio, and see that the website has ample details about your work. This will give you a better chance of attracting more clients.

2. Tweet about Your Product

Are you launching a new product? Tweet about it once per day or more if required. In your tweet, include information about how people would benefit by this product. For example, if you have created some website templates, you could tweet: “Working on creating website templates to help newbies create professional-looking pages.” You could also tweet about how your product is doing: “I am getting positive feedback from customers who purchased my templates.” Tweeps are sure to get interested in your product.

Tweet about your product at different times because Tweeps check their accounts at different times. However, don’t just tweet about your products. Insert plenty of social tweets in between your business tweets and make sure you respond to the tweets of other Twitter users. If you fail to do this, other Twitter users will consider you to be a spammer.

3. Tweet about Your Blog Posts

Publish posts related to your product or business on your blog and tweet the links to your followers along with a short description of the blog post. The content should really be of some use to your followers.

Here is a tweet for an example: “How to Build a Website in 10 Easy Steps” followed by the link. If people find the information you have offered to be useful, they are sure to get interested in your product too.

4. Tweet Your Affiliate Links

Twitter can help you get fatter affiliate commission checks. First, collect all your affiliate links in one place. You can now tweet these links to Twitter users who are really looking for the information. In this way, you can sell your clickbank products or get referrals to online program.

How do you find Twitter users who might really be interested in your referral links? Type a keyword related to a product you are attempting to sell on Twitter Search. For example, you want to sell an eBook on how to find a job. Simply type the keywords “find a job” on Twitter Search and it will turn up all the tweets of Twitter users who are busy hunting for jobs. You can now respond to these tweets with information about the product you are selling or with referral links to employment companies that you are working for. You are not spamming anyone here. You are simply providing information to people who are looking for precisely that information! You are just trying to be of some help by giving information of value. The links that you have posted might be the very thing the Twitter user is looking for. If they have already registered at the site you have suggested, they will either inform you or ignore you. You can then suggest another company or product. This method will help you become a roaring success at affiliate marketing.

Besides, some of these people might also become your followers just because you have given them some valuable information and been of some use to them. You will gain their trust. And once you have gained their trust and goodwill, you can easily sell more products to them or refer them to some more programs.

2 Golden Rules for Affiliate Marketers

Affiliate marketers should keep the following 2 golden rules in mind while promoting their products.

Recommend Known Products Only

Don’t ever make the mistake of recommending products that you have never used yourself. At least, they should be products created by a company or individual whom you trust. If you recommend sub-standard products that will not be of any use to the customer who has purchased them, you are going to lose your reputation. Your customers will no longer trust you. What’s worse, they will stop buying from you. So, never promote products about which you know nothing.

Promote Products of Value Only

Don’t promote useless products. In other words, promote products that will really be of value to your followers. If you promote useless products, your followers will stop taking your seriously. They will trust you no more.

The best thing that can ever happen to you as an affiliate marketer is getting positive feedback from a Tweep who found your products really useful. In such a case, you have not only earned a few bucks, but also a customer’s trust and goodwill. This customer won’t mind purchasing from you again. So, making a smart selection of products to promote and sell on Twitter is of great importance.

Internet marketers these days wants to dominate social websites. Well, as an online marketer, it will be much easier to get into the worldwide market via Twitter and other social websites. By plainly making acquaintances on the internet, you can already make a list of priceless prospects. If you would like to take full advantage of your Twitter traffic, you’re on the right track. Keep on reading.

For about three years, Twitter has gained tremendous popularity universally. Many people talk about diverse subjects. Some talk concerning their private interests and there are also those who market their business on the internet. Ordinary folks use Twitter to send messages to one another. Many of todays online marketers are serious in making use of Twitter to drive traffic to their business websites. The social network is believed as one of the most effective and impressive methods to improve traffic.

With growing visitors to your business site, you can guarantee more conversions. How can you make the most of your Twitter visitors? The following are more than a few ways to make it.

To begin with, you need to spread the info that you’re on Twitter. If you’re into web marketing, you probably mail plenty of email messages or post blogs. Try to incorporate your Twitter account on every one your messages, blog posts, and even on your online business website. That way, everyone may see that you’re making use of Twitter. You should also be active in taking advantage of Twitter and in sending messages regularly. If your followers observe that you are active, they will go to see your website.

Consistently sending your messages can also steer more traffic to your site, such as persons on Twitter who publish tweets frequently. You can gain active followers via your tweets. However, you should ensure that you publish more personal messages; dropping out bad ones can cause you to lose your followers. There are apps that you can use to assist you in dropping your messages on autopilot although you have to be extra careful in utilizing such apps.

By building good friendships with your followers, you will not have a difficult time in promoting your products or business. Don’t barrage your prospects with sales ads otherwise you can lose them. Instead, strive to post helpful information every now and then since the social community will be pleased about it more. Cultivating a good rapport with your followers is vital. By investing a little of your attention and energy in dropping useful tweets and in answering to the ones addressed to you, you can make certain the success of your business in the near future.

Maximizing visitors in Twitter is incredibly important. To sum it all up, let your existence noticed. Make everybody know that you are on Twitter. Send tweets on a regular basis and take more thought to the type of messages you are leaving. Make the messages personal and above all, build good relations. So now, do you know how to increase traffic to your business website? Try these helpful methods and you can go a long way.

Utilizing Twitter is enjoyable and easy. A lot of internet marketers are now utilizing Twitter to boost site visitors, so why don’t you try it? It appears to be the fad these days. However to tell you honestly, not everybody who utilize Twitter as a promotional gizmo is capable to be successful. You see, it takes time, effort, and patience to realize actual results. Maximizing Twitter traffic for your business can be efficiently accomplished if you know how to tweet correctly.

Although Twitter continues to gain acceptance in the business community as a business communication and marketing tool, I’m still amazed at the number of small businesses that don’t see the value of using this micro-blogging service as a marketing tool for business.

Just in case you need a refresher, Twitter (www.twitter.com) is a unique micro-blogging tool that lets users communicate with their “followers” in quick text messages of 140 characters or less called “tweets.”

Social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube are typically most effective when they are appropriately integrated with each other and with a company’s existing marketing efforts, since each one provides distinct benefits and advantages in an integrated social marketing plan. But Twitter – even when used as a stand-alone social networking strategy – can be a powerful tool in any small business marketing toolbox.

Some of the benefits of using Twitter in your marketing mix include:

Highly targeted audience: The people who choose to “follow” you on Twitter are already interested in hearing what you have to say, or they would not have followed you to begin with. This provides you with an audience of folks who have specifically opted-in to receive your messages and want to listen to what you have to say.

Instantly reach your “followers”: When you post something to your Twitter account (referred to as “tweets”), the message is instantly sent to your followers in the way they have chosen to be contacted. This could be a text message sent to their cell phone, posted to their Twitter page on the web, RSS-fed to a Facebook page or profile, etc. Regardless of the method your followers have selected, your tweets appear within a few seconds.

Generate traffic to your web site: By adding links in your tweets, you provide followers with direct access to your web site, to other social networking profiles, to your blog, etc. Again, if your social marketing has been properly integrated, all of this will lead back to your web site, generating more traffic and new visitors.

Improve your search engine rankings: By optimizing your Twitter profile (and integrating your social marketing efforts), you can build valuable inbound links to your web site, which is key in improving your site’s position in the search engine rankings.

Increase brand awareness and online visibility: Being active on Twitter gets your business name in front of customers as well as the general public everyday, which in turn helps build name recognition and improves brand awareness for your business.

Enhance customer service: Many businesses have found that by using Twitter, they can respond to customer needs (or complaints) very quickly and efficiently, allowing them to improve their level of service while publicly demonstrating their responsiveness and commitment to customers.

Manage your online reputation in real time: By monitoring Twitter for mentions of your business name, key personnel, product names, etc., you can keep track of what people are saying about your business and to respond or intervene quickly if necessary. There are also free tools available to help you monitor your reputation in Twitter (like Twilerts and Tweetdeck), which can make it very easy to monitor your reputation online.

These are just some of the ways in which Twitter can benefit your business, and as social networking continues to grow in popularity, there will surely be even more features, new uses, and business benefits to be gained by using Twitter.

Whether you are just thinking about using social marketing or have already started to use it, Twitter can be a great tool to integrate into your social marketing strategy as you go forward. And for small businesses that are serious about marketing, the value of Twitter is pretty clear.

I love Twitter! Nine months ago I hardly knew what it was and now, I cannot get enough of it! Twitter has helped me to connect with my customers. I have begun to receive special offers from my suppliers only available to fellow Tweetnics! I am even communicating with competitors and learning from them. All this has been made possible with this new social media site that is here to stay. If you are slow getting into this fantastic new way of communicating, as I was, then please read on… I would like to introduce you to three ways it has helped my promotional gifts business.

1. Interaction with competitors: When I set up my company twelve years ago, speaking to the competition rarely happened. Things were much more secretive. Perhaps you would see a competitor at a trade show or product launch, exchange a polite hello and be on your way. The Internet and especially Twitter has changed all that. Now I read many of their tweets daily. They ask for advice from me and I ask for their advice. Some of their tweets have introduced me to new trends long before they become trends. When one competitor was not sure about the way a logo should be printed on one of his customer’s sample mugs, he asked his Twitter friends for their opinions and we helped him to improve the design keeping his customer happy. I am sure now that he would do the same for me.

Of course, at the end of the day we are all still in competition with each other but we also share a common interest and our daily chat has offered a lot of benefits to us and our customers as well. I even received a nice order from one competitor! She had been let down by their normal suppliers. She tweeted whether anyone knew of another supplier who could supply her so she would not have let her customer down. I wrote back, “Yes, me!” Her order was saved and the customer was very happy with their promotional products.

Recently I have really enjoyed writing articles about the promotional gift industry for articles distribution website Articlesbase.com as have several of my competitors. I have found it very rewarding hearing their comments on my articles which are fed directly onto my Twitter page by Articlesbase for all to read! I must admit that I have found many of their articles very informative as well.

2. Interaction with Suppliers: There are a good number of my suppliers that are now regulars on Twitter. Many have been there substantially longer than I have so I have learned a lot from their experience. Most of my suppliers are now offering weekly and even daily specials for their customers following them on Twitter. There was a time in the not too distant past when they would have had to send these specials through the post at significant expense or fill up my inbox with e-shots that were often regarded as spam. Now it is up to me to log into Twitter to see what specials they have on offer. I can either ignore it or click on to their site. I can check their offers when I want to and not have to download some large picture into my inbox at the busiest time of the day. Unfortunately some of my non-tweeting suppliers still insist on doing so.

What I like most is that my customers are benefitting from this as well. I can offer my customers “following” me on Twitter the same excellent deals extended to me by my manufacturer suppliers. And, I can do it within minutes of receiving my suppliers tweet. Now that is service! I have learned from my suppliers how well these daily or weekly advertisements work and I now do it myself as I am sure you will begin to do as well.

3. Interaction with Customers: At the end of the day, your customers are what it is all about and Twitter can help you to converse with them. You no longer need to send large e-shots with large slow downloading pictures. You do not need to hassle them with phone calls hoping they will be interested in this or that. They now will know where to find you when they need you. Some may even learn that they share common interests with you and begin to converse with you on Twitter on a regular basis. I may be the Managing Director of a promotional gifts company but I am also interested in music, karate, cookery, travel, languages and German literature. I have found that many of my customers, suppliers and competitors have one or a few of the same interests and I have found it a lot of fun getting to know them! My employees have also begun to converse with their customers on their Twitter pages.

The majority of people have not even begun to explore Twitter. You have obviously decided to look into the advantages it offers you in business. Even if you have not signed up for your free Twitter account, you can still follow people and business that interest you. Simply go to their Twitter pages and have a look. When you are ready to sign up for an account, it is as easy as supplying your email address and a password which you choose. Good luck with it and I hope to hear from you in Twitter land!

Would you like to learn more about Twitter? Then please follow me on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/compugift. It would be great to hear how you are getting on and I would be happy to offer advice if you have any queries.

Dan Toombs is the Managing Director of CompuGift Limited. Established in 1997, CompuGift is one of the leading suppliers of promotional pens, promotional stress balls and other popular promotional gifts to businesses in the UK and Europe.

Online communications has changed ever since the social network websites emerged on the net. Perhaps you’re already familiar with MySpace and Facebook. These are examples of social networking websites and next to them is Twitter. Twitter is not just about social networking; it is also about blogging.

Users of Twitter tend to think of the site as a big cocktail party that is open to public for 24 hours. You can talk about many things like your business, personal life, or even find potential employers and customers. Twitter is also about micro networking 24/7.

Even if you meet a lot of people through Twitter, they will remain strangers except when you exchange tweets often. It is not possible to exchange business details or cards online. If you want to get more information on someone, you need to be friends and he/she should respond to the tweets you’re sending. Tweets are short messages you can send via Twitter which are only 140 characters. On your profile page, you can put information about yourself but it is limited and you can also put some links. It will depend on the people that visit your profile page whether they will be interested or not.

Visit the site SpartX.com so you can create your own virtual card and exchange them on Twitter. The business cards are dynamic. The site will allow you to do a lot of things like leave the virtual card to an email together with a short message or leave the card on a chosen website. You don’t need to talk to people on Twitter anymore; just leave your card and they will know who you are and what you do. If they are interested, they can easily contact you.

The tweets can contain messages, greetings, or networking information. Virtual business cards are a way to go especially if you’re into some kind of business. You can put your business details on the card and your contact info. Before you start to leave off your virtual card to Twitter subscribers, make sure that you identify your target market first. That way, you will not be wasting your time with people who will not appreciate your business. Determine the target market first and study their needs. If you think your business can meet up with their expectations and needs, then promote your business and leave your card.

As mentioned earlier, you can also put links on your profile page. The links should lead to helpful resources or to your business site. That way, you can also generate traffic to your site. By providing helpful links, you’re showing others that you care about their needs. By doing so, you can also develop good relationships. A relationship based on trust and confidence lasts; if you can win your prospects, your business will succeed through Twitter.

Visit the website and create your own business cards. Virtual cards can help you stay connected at all times. It will take only a few minutes to create the virtual card. You can do this by filling out the resume or upload a document that will come together with your business card. You will receive a tangible card and a virtual card.

By driving contacts to SpartX, you can easily send your card to their email. If you want to be identified by yoru prospects, send business cards now.

Please note that this article is about making money with Twitter. This topic is fully covered in 2 products I would highly recommend: niche blueprint and miracle traffic bot. Now let’s get into it…

Social marketing has grown long legs in recent years. Social media optimization is one of the hottest buzzwords around. Both are growing in popularity in light of the current economic climate. Not only has it become more expensive to advertise, but the funds for advertising just aren’t there either. It can be a huge benefit to put these social sites to work for your, and Twitter is a great choice. The advantages you have working with a social marketing platform such as Twitter are immense. Millions of Twitter users are looking at your tweets in real time. You have the power to impact those tweeters each day if you play your cards correctly. You can increase your brand awareness and get the word out there about your products and services quickly and simply. While Twitter itself is still growing to maturity, the amount of potential it has displayed for advertising with online marketing is astounding. If you take the time to understand how Twitter works and what you can do to make it work best for you and your business, you will see an amazing return on your investment. With this article, we will consider the numerous sundry advantages that Twitter offers you for promoting and marketing your products.

It is critical for you to interface with your clients on a number of levels, as a company. There is such a wide variety of people on Twitter now, so chances are great that you can find a pool of potential customers already members on the site. This is your moment, the perfect opportunity for you to contact those consumers and bring them to your website. Since individuals are monitoring their Twitter account fairly often, it is becoming an essential portion of their daily lives; this is why Twitter is rapidly gaining a reputation as the most habit forming Internet based application available today. Some Twitter users have confessed that they will connect to their account the moment they wake up in the morning to see what they have “missed” overnight. Basically, if there is someone who is dissatisfied with your product or service, you will know quickly through reading tweets. It might sound like a negative aspect, but it really can be quite helpful to understand what went wrong and improve the problem before it happens to another customer. It is necessarily to keep up with each problem your business faces, and through Twitter you can be constantly updated on how to work through your marketing.

Twitter is also a fantastic way to educate your target market about offers you have running, or to provide them with online discounts to boost your sales. Everyone is shopping for a great deal, so if people see that you are offering a great service they will re-tweet it and send it to other people they know. The people you are most trying to target will appreciate the insider knowledge and the opportunity to get in on a good deal. As long as you approach it in a savvy way, you’ll be pleased with your Twitter success. Large companies have done extremely well in this venue, but small businesses can do this as well.

If you are trying to benefit from social marketing, you can realize great gains from Twitter. It’s not rocket science, but there’s definitely some art and technique involved. Once you learn the basics you can expand your skills to use Twitter in many new and exciting ways.

Your ultimate goal when using Twitter should be to network, it’s like an online social hour (or social 140 characters). And like in every networking organization it’s all about who you know, and in Twitter’s case, who you “follow” and who “follows” you. The key to making Twitter work for you and your business is to weave the social aspects of your life in with your business. So how do you do that?

Below, you will find 7 steps that will help you develop not only a loyal Twitter fan base but also reveal some dos and don’ts to making Twitter work for you.

First, you’ve got to find people! So, how do you do that?

1. Search for people you may know who are already using twitter via the “find people” link up at the top of Twitter. Once you click that link you can type in their name and see if they’re currently on Twitter so you can connect with them.

2. Using the same “find people” link up at the top and then clicking on “find on other networks” you can match up your current contacts from your Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail and MSN accounts with your contact’s twitter accounts and then follow them from there.

3. Use the twitter search! You can either search right from your Twitter homepage or go to http://search.twitter.com/. Search using the keywords for your industry and find people tweeting about specific topics in your industry and within your niche. From there you can follow them, and also follow their followers!

Now that you’re on your way to having followers, here are a couple of tips to maximize your “Tweets.”

4. Mix in your “social tweets” with your “business tweets.” Remember, people buy people, and that goes for Twitter too! Build a loyal fan base by allowing them to get to know you, like you, trust you and respect you and weave in the “I’ve written blog about social media, check it out at www.celebritysites.com” (of course, you would actually link to the blog post, but since I haven’t written that yet… which now I will… I just put our homepage in there for demonstration).

5. You can also use http://search.twitter.com/ to find other current tweets about your industry that you can comment on. If you find a tweet that interests you, you can respond directly to that person by using “@TheirName” in your tweet so they get your reply, ultimately contributing to the Twitter community, gaining more content for your own twitter account and participating socially with other users.

And finally, here are some of my favorite Twitter tools to make your life easier!

6. TweetDeck (http://www.tweetdeck.com/) allows you to manage your Twitter account in a much simpler way by separating your replies, direct messages as well as specified groups of people. TweetDeck also allows you to update your Facebook status automatically with your Tweets.

7. Tweet Later (http://www.tweetlater.com/) allows you to setup tweets to be sent out at a scheduled time, automatically follow anyone who follows you and send out auto-responders to anyone who follows you.

Remember, Twitter can be used for many different purposes including social networking, marketing a business, prospecting, research and new ideas, reconnecting with old friends, etc. Millions are tweeting every day including just about every TV show, radio personality, movie star, pop singer, rap artist, sportscaster and professional athlete. Although this concept may seem a little foreign to you, remember that email was once that way and now it’s second nature! Ultimately, what makes Twitter so popular is the ability to connect with not only friends, but likeminded people. Remember, people buy people!

About nine months ago I was contacted by a customer who was excited about Twitter and all it had to offer. At the time, I must admit I knew very little about social media: Twitter was simply a name I had read in the paper but I was naive to all it had to offer. I felt like perhaps I had ignored one of the most important new marketing tools on offer and I put Twitter on my list of things to try in the very near future.  I was still a little unsure about tweeting and decided to first give it a go with something which was not business related: my karate club.  I am so happy I did and I am now using it daily in my own business as well.Â

In my pre-Twitter days, I would keep in touch with my customers as often as possible but it was always a bit worrying that perhaps I was sending one too many e-shots or making a phone call too few. Those days of worry are over. You see, anyone that wants to get updated on what is new on offer simply needs to check out my Twitter page. Before Twitter, I would need to despatch e-shots, brochures etc. Now my information is already distributed! It is there for anyone that wants to read it when they want to read it. They simply need to visit my Twitter page to get up to date fast.

You might ask how this is different to visiting a company’s own website. Can you not put updates there instead? Well, it is a lot different. You see, Twitter only allows you to write short statements of 140 characters or fewer, including a web page link. You need to make your messages short and to the point. This popular social media site is also interactive. I have much more regular contact with my customers, friends, suppliers and even competitors that was every before possible.

So how do you achieve success using Twitter? Try the following five suggestions and you will be well on your way.

Open your free account: This is easy. You simply need to visit http://www.twitter.com and fill in your details along with an email and password.

Look For People to Follow: Twitter has a ‘people finder’ in the top right corner. Look for companies or people you know and press the follow button. The more the merrier. Try to find and follow companies or people you would like to follow you and ultimately do business with you. If the businesses and people you follow are interested in your  products and services they will. This will help create a community of followers: a captive audience if you like of people that are interested in what you have to say.Â

Make contact with those following you: When people begin to follow you, be sure to make contact with them. Thank them for following you and offer your details again. Something like: “Thank you for following (your company). If you require any information about (your product/s or services) please do not hesitate to contact me”, will do just fine.

Tweet Regularly: Perhaps you could make a habit of tweeting your special of the day every morning with a link to the special on your website or you could introduce your customers to an article you just had published. Try not to make it all about business.  Take an interest in your Twitter community. Think of this as a way to make both business and casual conversation with your online community. If all you do is speak about business all the time, people will soon switch off and stop following you.

Spend time on Building Your Community: After only one month on Twitter, the Google Page Rank of my Twitter page had already gone to PR3. That is fast. The more people that follow you, the higher your Google Page Rank. Links pack to your site could become more significant.

Don’t forget to Advertise You Are on Twitter: In your blogs, articles and of course on your website let the people that matter know where you are. You can also promote your Twitter page on any printed media you may send out. Make sure your customers know where to find you and to keep in touch.Â
